George Martin Obituary

George Raymond "Buck" Martin, 73, of Eldersburg, died Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009, at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore due to complications following a heart attack. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, spending many days fishing with his long-time friend Bob Elliott. Following retirement, he and his wife sold their home and purchased an RV and took a retirement journey that stretched from Alaska to Florida. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughters and sons-in-law Mary Beth and Kevin Steele, of Canonsburg, Pa., Stacey and Mark Keller, and Amy and Philip Kulp, all of Sykesville, and Bridget and Greg Hamilton, of Westminster; son and daughter-in-law Brett and Lisa Martin, of Barton; grandchildren Alicia, Justin, Brendon, Breanna, Barry, Melanie, Derek, Cory and Grace; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Patsy Greene, of Baltimore. He was predeceased by a sister, Naomi Karlowitz. At his request, he will be cremated and buried privately. Oh, I was so sad when I saw this. You all know that you are like a family to me and I have such fond memories of growing up with your family. You all were always so generous in including me and I always felt like Buck and Miss Cassie were my second parents. Buck had such a cheerful outlook and a love for life. I know you will miss him terribly. I love you all and am keeping you in my prayers. May all the wonderful memories of your dad bring you comfort during this sad time. Much Love, Shawn
