Robert Phillip Propst

Robert Phillip "Phil" Propst, 73, of Union Bridge, MD, died at his home on Friday, September 8, 2023. Born July 24, 1950, in NC, he was the son of the late Forrest Phillip and Ruth Sue (Reinhardt) Propst. He was the loving husband of Mary "Connie" Propst for 52 years. Phil was a graduate of Woodlawn High School. He retired from the Social Security Administration after 35 years. He also worked part-time at Martin's and Shoppers Foods in Westminster for over 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, dancing, listening to 50's and 60's music. He also enjoyed watching the Baltimore Orioles, Atlanta Braves and along with the Baltimore Ravens. Phil was the devoted father to Michael Propst and wife Gi of Germantown; Bobby Propst of Union Bridge; cherished grandfather to Dylan Propst and fiancé Kendall Johnson, Kristina, Steven, Dustin, and Korin Propst and great-grandfather to Alias Tyler Propst. Phil was predeceased by grandson, Brent Tyler Propst. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at 11 a.m., St. Joseph Catholic Church, 44 Frederick St., Taneytown. Interment will follow the mass at St. Joseph Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, from 2p.m. to 4p.m. and 6p.m. to 8p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN, 38105.
