TOWNS, Vivian Vivian Viv Epps Towns, 96, of Summerville, widow of Thomas M. Towns, Sr. died Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at the Presbyterian Home of South Carolina, Summerville. Funeral service will be held Friday, December 8, 2006 at 1 o'clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel, Summerville. Burial will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens, Hwy. 61, Charleston. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12 o'clock until the hour of service on Friday. Mrs. Towns was born February 11, 1910 in New Zion, SC, the daughter of the late John James Epps and Italine Moore Epps. She was a graduate of Gable High School, Gable, SC and Columbia College Nursing School, Columbia, SC. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church where she was a member of the Sunday School Class. She retired as a registered nurse with the Medical University of South Carolina where she worked in the recovery room. Surviving are, two daughters, Mary Towns Caley (Bill) of Moore, SC, Vivian Elaine Towns of James Island, SC; one son, Thomas M. Towns, Jr. (Linda Campbell) of Conway, SC; grandchildren, Marie Biggerstaff of Cowpens, SC; Michael Towns Caley of Odessa, TX; Melinda Caley Stoehr of Granada Hills, CA; Nancy Hallman Chodzin of Bellingham, WA; William Blake Hallman, Jr. of Charleston, SC; Merrill Hallman Chapman of Mt. Pleasant, SC; Thomas Scott Towns of Mt. Pleasant, SC; Ashley Epps Towns of James Island, SC; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Elizabeth Epps Barbery of Summerville.
