William "Billy" Goshorn

William "Billy" Goshorn, 84, of Bonneau, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on October 9, 2025. Born and raised in the Lowcountry, Billy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose love for the outdoors and time on the water defined much of his life. For more than 40 years, he made his home on the lake in Bonneau-a place where he found peace, purpose, and joy in fishing and sharing that passion with others. Billy dedicated 43 years of hard work to the Charleston Paper Mill, where he retired as a respected foreman and supervisor. In his younger years, he was an accomplished fisherman who competed professionally and earned sponsorships from Johnson Outboard Motors and Berkeley Marine in Moncks Corner. His love of fishing never faded, and he took great pride in seeing younger generations continue that legacy. Billy was married to the love of his life, Nancy Goshorn, for 64 wonderful years. Their marriage was true partnership built on faith, laughter, and devotion. They shared a lifetime of memories together-raising their family, spending quiet mornings by the lake, and always finding joy in each other's company. Their love was steady and genuine, and example to all who knew them. He is survived by his children, Mary Kay Frank (Mike Frank), and David Goshorn (Sherry Goshorn). His cherished grandchildren include Laura Lynn Orvin (Tyler Orvin), Michaele Frampton (Chad Frampton), and Jarrett Frank (Kelly Frank), Jessica Cantley Carn (Jamie Carn), Kristie Byrd (Jeremy Byrd), and Dylan Goshorn. His brother Robert Goshorn (Ricki Goshorn) and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents William Goshorn and Edna Goshorn. Billy was also blessed with nine great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy: Jaxson Orvin, Paisley Orvin, Mary Katherine Frampton, Charles Frampton, Collins Frank, Jac Carn, Joanna Carn, Baker Byrd, and Landyn Byrd. Billy shared a special bond with his brother-in-law Ed Riley, whom he loved dearly. Their friendship, humor, and countless days spent on the lake together created memories that will live on in the stories told by family and friends. Billy's life was one of quiet strength, unwavering loyalty, and simple joys. He will be remembered for his love of family, his integrity, and his time spent doing what he loved most-casting a line and sharing the catch with those he loved. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Northwood Academy Bass Fishing Team, an organization that reflects Billy's lifelong love of the sport.
