Chrystal Singer

Chrystal C. Singer CHARLOTTE - Chrystal Colvard Singer, age 65, died unexpectedly at her Charlotte, NC home on Wednesday, September 3, 2014, from a heart attack. Chrystal was born August 31, 1949 in Oklahoma. The daughter of William H. Colvard, Jr. and Dixie M. Colvard, she grew up in Charlotte, NC and graduated from Charlotte's South Mecklenburg High School after which she attended art school. She worked as an accomplished florist for many years. She was active with her community and her church, organizing food drives, serving her neighborhood's HOA, and contributing to beautification projects. She loved to garden, decorate, and shop. Chrystal was passionate about Thanksgivings with family and friends and spending time at the beach with her grandkids and family. She could make anything beautiful and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Tommy H. Singer; her daughter and son-in-law, Victoria A. and Michael Barlow; and three grandchildren, Drew, Connor, and Daphne Barlow, who all reside in California. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Kelly C. and Mike C. Jolly of Charlotte, NC; and her brother and sister-in-law, R. Kevin and Jennifer R. Colvard of Charlotte, NC. She is predeceased by her son, Casey R. Cloninger; and parents, William H. Colvard, Jr. and Dixie M. Abernethy; and her brother, William H. "Skip" Colvard III. A memorial service will be held at Unitarian Universalist Church at 234 N. Sharon Amity Rd. in Charlotte, NC on Saturday, September 13 at 10:30 a.m. J.B.
