She was born in Spencer, NC September 15, 1922. Dorothy married Elvin Madison Hoffner of Salisbury, NC who predeceased her. Survivors include two daughters, Linda Hoffner Chandler of Washington, DC and Susan Hoffner Arnold and husband David Arnold of Decatur,GA; granddaughters, Larkin Arnold Bello and husband Matthew Bello of Simpsonville, SC and Laura Chandler and great-grandson Leo Eggerman of Washington, DC.
The Family requests that memorials be made to "In Honor of Dorothy Hoffner," Girl Scouts, Hornets' Nest Council, 7007 Idlewild Rd., Charlotte, NC 28212 or at www.hngirlscouts.org.
