Edward Westbrook Obituary
Mr. Westbrook, 75, of Charlotte, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2003, surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 18, 1928 in Huntersville, NC, the son of the late James Robert Westbrook and Zelma Lucille Ferrell Westbrook.
Mr. Westbrook served in the U.S. Army in Fairbanks, Alaska during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid NASCAR fan dating back to the early 1960's. Mr. Westbrook was preceded in death by a son, Eddie Westbrook and a grandson, Shawn Michael Murphy.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Katie Howell Westbrook of the home; son, Robert Westbrook (Becky) of Mt. Holly, NC; daughters, Pat Fair (Terry) of Huntersville, NC, Debbie Murphy (Tom Brady), of Charlotte, NC and Dianne Ross and husband, Paul; brother, Louis Westbrook (Jenny) of Charlotte, NC; sister, Lucille Gant (John) of Huntersville, NC; grandchildren, Amy Fair, Brett Fair, Justin Westbrook and Zachary McKee; aunts, Elizabeth Frame of McConnells, SC and Wilma Parnell of Huntersville, NC.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2003 at 2:00 PM at Catawba Heights Baptist Church, 311 Belmont Road, Belmont, NC with Pastor Raymond Johns, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7-8:30 PM at Raymer Funeral Home, Huntersville, NC.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to Dr. John Barkley and the staff of Hospice of Charlotte and a special thanks to Jan Briestensky at Charlotte Medical Clinic.
Memorials may be made to Hospice at Charlotte, 1420 E. 7th Street, Charlotte, NC 28204.
Raymer Funeral Home of Huntersville, NC is serving the Westbrook family.
