James Todd Obituary

James Ralph (Jim) Todd Jr.
LENIOR -- Mr. Todd died Saturday, December 22, 2007, at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care. He was born September 23, 1920 in Caldwell County to the late James R. Todd. and Irene Martin Todd.
Mr. Todd, an attorney with Todd, Vanderbloemen and Brady, was a 1937 graduate of Lenoir High School, Mr. Todd attended Western Kentucky University, served as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force during WWII, and completed his education at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, receiving his law degree in 1949. He was a lifelong member of Saint James Episcopal Church.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Mary Elizabeth Bush Todd; one son, James R. Todd III and wife, Angie Rothrock Todd of Lenoir, daughter, Rebecca Todd Cobey of Chapel Hill and husband G. Munroe Cobey, daughter, Mary Martin (Marty) Todd of Hickory; son-in-law L.T. Holder of Hickory, and six grandchildren Mary Davis and Elizabeth Cobey, Todd and Cameron Holder, Jordan and Haley Todd.
Mr. Todd had been actively involved in all aspects of community life in Lenoir, his home for 87 years. He was a musician, artist, plantsman, trout fisherman, volunteer and churchman.
A memorial service will be held at Saint James Episcopal Church, Lenoir, at 3 o'clock on Sunday, December 23, 2007 with a reception following in the Hogan Room at the Church The Reverend Mike Cogsdale will officiate.
