Jeffery Allen Bell
Mr. Bell, 45, of Charlotte, NC, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 22, 2009, at Presbyterian Hospital, Harris Hospice.
Mr. Bell was born on October 1, 1963, in Hopkinsville, KY, son of Angela Chandler Bell and the late Bobby Gordon Bell. Jeff grew up in Wingate, NC, where he treasured the fond memories of his many friends. He graduated from UNC Chapel Hill in 1985 and built his career in banking and was most recently employed as a Commercial Banker with American Community Bank, Charlotte, NC. People were so important to Jeff and he treasured every friend and every family member. He was an avid Tar Heel fan and loved traveling to various spots with his wife and best friend of nine years, Aliya Aziz Bell. Jeff loved life and cherished every day he lived. He was a member of Matthews United Methodist Church.
Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Aliya Bell of Charlotte, mother, Angela Bell of Wingate; brother, Dr. Greg Bell of Wingate; uncles, Bob Chandler of Marshville, Dr. John Bell of Hendersonville, TN and his loving cat Punkin.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening, May 25, from 6-7PM at the Heritage Funeral Home, Weddington Chapel, 3700 Forest Lawn Drive, Matthews, NC 28104. Services to celebrate Jeff's life will be held Tuesday, May 26th, at 2:00 PM at Matthews United Methodist Church, 801 S. Trade St., Matthews, with interment to follow in the Wingate City Cemetery.
Memorials should be made to Presbyterian Hospice & Palliative Care, P.O. Box, Charlotte, NC 28233, Matthews United Methodist Church, 801 S. Trade St., Matthews, NC 28105 or to the Bobby Gordon Bell Scholarship Fund, c/o Wingate University, Wingate, NC 28174

Aliya, I love you very much. I am so sorry that Jeff is gone. Just think...he finally beat that cancer. He is whole again and is watching over you. I know he is telling God how special you are and thanking Him for giving you as his life partner. You made Jeff's life complete and made even the hardest days of his life more bearable and filled them with great love. You are a remarkable lady and I am blessed to have you as my friend. If you need anything at all...day or night...all you need to do is give me a call. I love you very much.
