Louise Marley Obituary

Louise McRee Marley
Louise McRee Marley, 93, of Charlotte, died January 14, 2012 at Huntersville Oaks Nursing Home. She was born in Lincoln County on July 3, 1918 to Jefferson and Sally Ann McRee. She was the youngest of 11 children, two of which died in infancy.
She graduated from Lincolnton High School and Moehlman School of Beauty Culture in Hickory, NC. She owned City Beauty Salon in Charlotte and had a 45-year career as a hairdresser. Louise was a devoted wife and mother who loved her family very much. She was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and participated in many church activities. Another thing she loved was her volunteer work at Hospice and Palliative Care in Charlotte where she volunteered for about 20 years and made lasting friendships, especially Cricket Weston. She was also a member of the Eastern Star.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Max J. Marley, Sr; her two sisters, Lottie Whisenant and Clara Turner; and her six brothers, Mack, Gene, Paul, Glen, Kenneth, and Woodrow McRee.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Robbins and husband, Ray, of Cornelius, NC; son, Max J. Marley, Jr. and wife, Lola, of Newburgh, IN; four grandchildren, Karen Didow and husband, Darryl, of Oakville, ON; Scott Robbins and wife, Tina, of Stateville, NC; Adam Marley and wife, Lauren, of Shelbyville, KY; and Andrew Marley of Bowling Green, KY. She also had four great-grandsons, Michael Didow and Timothy Nicholas, Tyler and Tristan Robbins. The family wishes to express their thanks and gratitude to her caregivers at Huntersville Oaks and to Hospice and Palliative Care of Lake Norman for their care and love given to her.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home, Gastonia, NC with Pastor Paul Turbedsky officiating.
Burial will follow at Hollywood Cemetery, Gastonia, NC.
Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, Lake Norman, 705 Griffith Street, Suite 203, Davidson, NC 28036 or to Grace Covenant Church, Care Ministry, Attn: Pastor Paul Turbedsky, 17301 Stateville Road, Cornelius, NC 28031.
Condolences may be made to the family at ww.withersandwhisenantfuneralhome.com. The family is being cared for by Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 2916 Union Rd., Gastonia; 704-864-5144.

Louise was a special lady and it has been a pleasure knowing her, she has struggled with her health issues for many years and is now pain free and I know she is in Heaven just talking up a storm with all her family & friends.
