Russell Kennedy Crouse
Mr. Crouse, 89, formerly of Charlotte, NC, died August 23, 2006 at The Virginian in Fairfax, Virginia.
Funeral services for Mr. Crouse will be 12:30 PM Saturday, August 26, 2006 in the Chapel of Calvary Church in Charlotte with Pastor Phil Divine officiating. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park.
Mr. Crouse was born August 18, 1917 in Roaring Gap, NC, son of the late Rufus A. and Jennie Kennedy Crouse. He graduated from Sparta High School in Sparta, NC and from business school. Mr. Crouse served with the US Army, 779th Tank Battalion in the Philippines during World War II. He was a salesman for wholesale food and grocery groups, owned his own business, and was a manufacturer's rep. After "retiring" he sold advertising specialities for several years. Mr. Crouse was preceded in death by his wife Sue Rhodes Crouse; a brother, Burt Crouse, and a sister, Gladys Crouse Bryan.
Mr. Crouse was a member of Calvary Church, Carolina Golf and Country Club and the Charlotte Grocery Manufacturers Association. He loved golf, card games, ballroom dancing and was an avid NASCAR fan. A gentile giant of a man, he always looked for the good in others. He was handsome, charming and had a wonderful sense of humor. He also had a deep abiding love of God, family and friends.
Mr. Crouse is survived by his loving daughter, Patricia Givens and her husband, Patrick of Oakton, VA; a granddaughter, Christine Filiatrault and her husband, David of Vienna, VA; and twin great-grandchildren, Luke and Charlotte Filiatrault of Vienna, VA.

Russ.....You were a brother to me and I will miss you greatly. I have many, many fine memories of you through the past 65 years. You were a real joy to all in the family.
