Zellie Williams Obituary

Zellie Williams "Diane" STANLEY - Zellie "Diane" Williams, 67, passed away December 1, 2013. She was born March 11, 1946 in Mecklenburg County to the late Ernest Boyd Williams and Zellie Williams. Diane was a member of Thrift United Methodist Church in Paw Creek; she served as president for nine years with the Ladies Auxiliary Paw Creek American Legion and retired from Harris Teeter. Diane is survived by a sister, Gladys Cox and husband Roy; three brothers, Tommy Williams and wife Joyce, Dennis Williams and wife Priscilla, Larry Williams and wife Mary; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by five siblings, Edna Martin, Effie Norton, Doris Brooks, Coyte Williams and Ronnie Williams. A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00am, Thursday at Carothers Funeral Home in Stanley. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn West Cemetery in Charlotte. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Paw Creek American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Veterans Fund.
