Dimitrios Kostas Obituary

Dimitrios "Jim" Kostas died peacefully on February 17, 2015 in Chicago. Born in Lidoriki, Greece on March 5, 1917, Jim emigrated to Chicago in 1951 where he worked as a restaurant manager and a bartender. He married his wife, Amelia, in 1962 and in 1964 had a son, Konstantinos. After moving to Vancouver and then to San Diego, he and his wife moved back to Chicago in 1998 to live closer to their son. Jim was a devoted husband for 50 years and often reminisced about the fun he had with Amelia who preceded him in death in 2013. Jim will be remembered for his quick wit, loving smile and a passion for journaling every detail of his life. He is survived by his son, Konstantinos Kostas.The family has suggested that donations be made to:Lewy Body Dementia Association, Inc, www.lbda.org/go/donate or Pets Are Worth Saving, www.pawschicago.org
