Dear family,

My deep sympathy to you on the loss of dear Dorothy Jean. Thank you for sharing her with me, if even for a little while! I loved taking photos with her, walking with her, and just spending time with her. Her smile was worth more than gold! I have one of Dorothy Jean's books on teaching Bible to children, and it is absolutely a cherished piece in my collection. She is a great role model for me, having lived an incredible, gracious, and well-loved life. I am honored to have had the privilege to know Dorothy Jean! Megan E.V. (former Balfour chaplain)

DJ was a mentor and teacher, who greatly influenced my life and ministry. Among many memories, I will never forget the day I met her, in her office at GETS. Her first words to me where "Why are you here?", and she really wanted to know! Later, on a paper I submitted, she wrote to me "Don't hide your light!". Words I have not forgotten. Thank you, DJ!

I am one of the legions of DJ's students on whom she made a lasting impression. I would not be where I am today without her. I try to pay my gratitude forward in my teaching and service. Thank you, DJ. You inspired me.
