James P. Doolin

James P. Doolin, 52, of Rochelle, IL, died Friday, May 21. He was born Aug. 16, 1951 in Springfield, IL, the son of Timothy S. and Emma Sue, nee Reid, Doolin. On Aug. 17, 1974, he married Carol A. Kastigar in LaSalle, IL. He received his Bachelor of Science in Education at Illinois State University in 1974, his Master of Science in Educational Administration at N.I.U. in 1985 and Education Specialist at N.I.U. in 1990. He served as Superintendent of Rochelle Community Consolidated School Dist. 231 since 1998, and was President of the Superintendents' Round Table/Study Club of Northern Illinois Round Table. He is preceded in death by his father. Survivors include his wife Carol Doolin of Rochelle; two daughters, Jennifer A. (Nathan) Maahs of Sycamore, IL and Jamie A. Doolin of Chicago, IL; mother Sue Doolin of Ashland, IL; two brothers, Timothy S. Doolin Jr. of Omaha, NE and W. Gregory Doolin of Chicago, IL, and one sister, Anne Doolin of Woodridge, IL. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 26 at St. Patrick Church in Rochelle, IL. Burial will be Thursday at St. Augustine Cemetery in Ashland, IL at 2 p.m.
