I met Jean through my future wife, back in 1946. The two of them, along with a number of other women, formed a pinochle club. She was pretty, gracious and a pleasure to know and be around. When we moved to Boston she visited us there and when we moved to St. Paul, she came up there. An easy guest, a good friend and a wonderful memory. She was the last of the North Side Pinochlers. In 1963 The Faber Dudek Family began...You became my mother in law, and the journey of our friendship began and lasted for always. You and I have shared sad times, happy times, travels, quiet times...lots and lots of holidays, vacations and memories.

You were the number one baker for the family celebrations and till this moment I cannot find a carrot cake as delicious as yours. Every Christmas you spent hours making cookies...i saved tins for you...oh I i miss these treats.

Your wonderful smile will always warm my heart and you shall be remembered for always in all of our hearts. It will be a strange Christmas this year with you missing.

Gigi, Bruce, Brooke you did Nana proud at her celebration of life yesterday and know she was beaming with pride. Well Done.

To you Nana...a good woman..hope you are dancing, laughing and enjoying your final reward....You are loved and will be missed, my mother in law No 1...
Barbara your only daughter in law........xxxxoooooxxxxx

GiGi, Bruce, and Brooke,
I was so happy to have known "Gram". I loved speaking with her and her days growing up in the City of Chicago. She once told me how her husband took her out to the Trianon Ballroom on the Southside.
Gram lived a life to celebrate. I am extremely happy to have known her.

Hello GiGi,
Sorry to hear about the loss of your Grandmother Jennie. She was well know to us as Aunt Jennie. We always looked forward to seeing her, Aunt Elsie and Elaine Wise at my Aunt Ruthie's during Derby week in Louisville. Jennie was always cheerful and funny. Not only that she spoke very often of you. I am the son of Mary Lou Yurt (Kuhfal). My grandfather was Jennie's brother Howard. Please give Elsie our deepest sympathy and we hope the best for her as well. Take care and maybe we will all meet sometime. Sincerely Tom, Kelly, Kennedy and Kendra Yurt.

To: Aunt Jennie's family members: When I was young, I would come to Chicago to visit with family members. I spent a lot of time with Janice and Bobby. We would play ball in the street. We would go and visit Grandma Kuhfal and other relatives. We used to go to Riverview Park on nickel days. We had so much fun! Aunt Jennie was always so much fun and I always looked forward to her coming to Louisville during Derby week. She will be missed. Mary Lou Kuhfal Yurt, niece, Louisville, KY

Dear Gigi and family: Please accept our sincere sympathy in the loss of your grandmother (my great aunt). Aunt Jennie was a wonderful person and lived life to the fullest. She was so much fun at the Louisville, KY Derby parties. We all looked forward to seeing her each year. My husband John, son Joseph and I last came to see Aunt Jennie in April of 2008. We had a nice visit, we went out to eat at a restaurant with Aunt Jennie, we played cards with Aunt Jennie and Aunt Elsie and relived some old memories. The last time I got to actually speak to Aunt Jennie was in March of 2010. I always loved to get her cards and letters years ago when she was still up to writing. She always was uplifting and she sometimes would send me copies of funny jokes she would come across. I also like to research my family tree and she helped me when I had questions about my Chicago relatives. When I would talk to her on the phone, she kept up with current events so conversation was always engaging. I only hope that I can live as long as Aunt Jennie, she was an awesome person and I (we) will always remember her. Sincerely, Kathleen Maple (daughter of Mary Lou Kuhfal Yurt, who is Howard's daughter) John and Joseph Maple, Louisville, KY

Even though I only met Jennie once, she definitely left her mark on me. She was such a gracious, welcoming, calming woman who I can only strive to emulate. Her drive and zest for life has definitely been passed to those she has touched . Sending a virtual hug and prayers to her family.

I am Jim Divita in Indianapolis, Indiana. My mother was Theresa Rohde Divita, sister of Sophie, wife of Jeanne's brother Walter. Jeanne, Elsie, Sophie and my ma used to go out to lunch together and have fun gabbing. Well, three of them are together again. I don't know if Elsie remembers me, but say hello to her for me. I extend my sympathy to her and to all of you.
