Joseph Mohr Obituary

Joseph Augus Mohr best known as ''Bud'', died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006 in Lemont, IL. Bud lived most of his life on the south side of Chicago but for the last 4 years he lived at Franciscan Village in Lemont. Born On Dec. 4, 1917, he was 88 years old when he passed away, a 23 year bonus after retiring from 32 years as a machinist and foreman at the Chicago Tribune. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Laverne and is survived by his five devoted children, Marybeth (Stan) Curry, Joseph R. (Kathy) Mohr, Robert Mohr, Janet Motluck (Dave Lulich) and James A. (Lupe) Mohr; his 10 much loved grandchildren, Dr. Sean (Catherine) Curry, Megan Curry, Melissa Mohr, Joe (Ann Marie) Mohr, Andrew Mohr, Sam Mohr, Kristin (Dave) Korn, Julie Motluck, Kate Mohr and Aimee Mohr; and loved ones who knew and respected Grandpa Bud as well, Darylyn Diorio, Marsha Giambalvo, Mal Jones, and Nancy Tomasiello Mohr. Bud is also survived by his three siblings, Al (Jean) Mohr, Sr. Albetha Mohr and Betty (Ed) Leonard, and sister-in-law Rosemary Gorlitz. His family will cherish his gentle nature, beautiful smile and life long example of how a man worships God in taking care of others and giving support, guidance and friendship when needed. We will remember a father, brother and grandfather who loved dancing, golfing, bowling, playing cards and movies. His country thanks him for his 4 1/2 years of service in the Army during WWII in Europe. A wake and memorial service is being held on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2006 at Robert J. Sheehy Funeral Home, 9000 W. 151st St., Orland Park, IL 708-857-7878, from 2 til 9 p.m. with prayers there on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2006 at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Bede the Venerable Catholic Church, 83rd St. and Kostner Ave., in Chicago, at 10 a.m. Interment following at St. Mary Cemetery. Grandpa-

Thank you so much for the experiences you have given me to remember. So many times you made me laugh, and when I was not being the best behaved were able to laugh with me. I will remember the many block parties, traveling to Virginia, and the picture of me sleeping on your chest as a young boy. You were always able to make me feel special, and show me what it is to sacrafice and give so much of yourself to your family. I will remember you smile. I love you Grandpa and miss you dearly.
