Kenneth H. Nyquist, age 66, resident of Romeoville, passed away peacefully May 20, 2009 surrounded by his family. Born Sept. 9, 1942 in Chicago, IL the son of the late Harold and Elsie Nyquist. Beloved husband of 46 years of Elaine; loving
father of Earlie

Nyquist and Samantha (Tyler) Greek; cherished grandfather of Brandon and Trevor; dear brother of Dennis (Ooy) Mulcahy and the late Glen Faure; fond uncle of Kristina. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Seasons Hospice 606 Potter Road, Des Plaines, IL 60016. Visitation Saturday, May, 23 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., with a service to follow at 5 p.m. at Overman-Jones Funeral Home, 15219 S. Joliet Road, (Corner of Rts. 30 & 59) Plainfield, IL 60544. I still think of you daily and almost cry just as much. They say it gets better, but for me, its just learning to keep going. I couldnt have asked for a better mother or father. My life may not show it but every good thing in it is because of you both. You were and are the best father a girl could ask for. There will never be a day that you wont be in my heart or on my mind and I know that one day youll be there for me again when its my time. So until then keep them all laughing up there. I Love You!

My world has changed so much without you, our children and grandchildren will help me to keep going. I keep your picture on my desk and kiss you good morning when I get to work and kiss you goodnight when I leave. I know you are in Gods hands and we will be together again when God calls me home.

I will miss my friend Ken who helped all of us who were "computer challenged"
He always had a warm smile and a great attitude even when times were rough.
Elaine and Family, please know that Ken's co-workers are grieving with you. We have lost a kind and gentle man. It was my pleasure to call him a friend. May God Bless you and put his arms around you during the difficult days ahead.

God bless the Nyquist family in this difficult time. Always remember the good times.
I have never met a more positive person, even in the face of big uncertainty at work. His words of advice were wise and thoughtful. I told him so and he'd chuckle.
Often, Ken would see me walking down the hallway and say, "keep smiling!" His other saying was "how's the world?" Well, today old friend, I cant smile and the world is sad because its lost a great, unique person. Thanks for everything. Rest in peace.
