My heartfelt sympathy to George Kouba and the Paciga and Kouba families. I was saddened to hear of Mercedes passing. She and I were friends in high school and her beautiful singing voice and bubbly personality remains in my memory. Unfortunately we lost touch when I went away to the U of I, but Lourdians never forget one another . Coincidentally we both were married on Sept. 1, 1962 and I also married a Lt. in the U.S. Navy. I will remember Merc and her family in my prayers .
