Carl Whitacre Obituary
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 3, 2019 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Trenton. burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery in Chillicothe, Mo.
Family visitation will be Sunday from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Resthaven Mortuary, Trenton.
Memorials to: Highway 65 Senior Center and may be left or mailed to the mortuary.
Carl was born in Wayne, Mi. on April 16, 1929. The family moved to Chillicothe, Mo the following year. He graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1947. He served as Methodist minister for churches in Braymer, Harden, Independence, Smithville, Hamilton, St. Joseph, Appleton City, Montrose, Deepwater and Osceola. he semi-retired from the ministry in 1994 and fully retired in 2009.
Carl is survived by his wife Marilyn (Leeper) Whitacre, children; Marty McKee of Trenton, Mark Whitacre and wife Patti of Lebanon, Mo., Mathew Whitacre and wife Jennifer of Bloomington, In., Ann Davis and husband Kenny of Trenton, Mo., Mica Owen and husband Marshall of Braymer, Mo., step children Beth Leeper and George Michael of Trenton, Debbie Cribb and husband Tom of Trenton, and Scott Leeper and Denise of Sterling Colorado, 21 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sally Whitacre, wife Ann Whitacre, infant son Stephen Bruce, a still born son Christian Ames, and infant great-granddaughter, Bentley Jo Silkwood.
