Margaret Hromnak Obituary

Margaret J. "Peggy" Hromnak passed away Friday, February 4, 2022 at the age of 89, after a short illness, with several of her family members present.

Peggy was the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth Nuber. She graduated from Bayonne High School in NJ and NJ State Teachers College.

She is survived by her husband George of 67 years of Homosassa, a son Dr. George and Mary Jane Hromnak, State College, PA, a son Steven and Marybeth Hromnak, Blairstown, NJ, a son Edward and Christine Hromnak, No. Chesterfield, VA and a daughter Catherine and Brian Davis, Johns Creek, GA, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. In addition, Peggy leaves behind her beloved Dachshund, Heidi.

Besides being a great mother, early in her career, Peggy worked as a Lab Technician for Colgate-Palmolive Co in their new Products Testing Lab. Following that, and later in her career, she worked as a paralegal for several law firms in Morristown, NJ. A major project that she was a Lead Supervisor for, the Agent Orange Project, managing data collection. She also was active in the law firm's Asbestos Project. Peggy was an excellent seamstress and made many of her clothes. As a teenager, she made her Elementary School graduation dress. Later in life, when her daughter had her wedding and reception at the Renaissance Festival, she made her and her husband's attire. She also made the grooms and her three sons Monk's attire. Many of the patrons attending the affair thought we were the hired actors at the festival.

Peggy also enjoyed camping as she and her husband spent many of their 67 years together doing tent camping, then to pop-ups and finally to several travel trailers traveling the USA and Canada. Some of her favorite spots were the Jersey Shore at Wildwood and Caper May, NJ and the many Florida State Parks. At home, she loved gardening, playing the many card games that the computer offered and watching TV mystery shows. She also enjoyed having breakfast with her husband George, almost on a daily basis, at the Sugar Mill Restaurant here in Homosassa with her many friends that she met and loved. She was a member of St. Thomas RC Church in Homosassa and would like to be remembered as a quiet but warm and personable loving person to all who knew her.

Friends will be received on Fri., Feb. 25, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Sat., Feb. 26, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. from St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with Fr. Glenn Diaz, Celebrant. Interment in New Jersey will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Peggy's family requests that memorial contributions be made in her name to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. www.wilderfuneral.com.
