Gerald Arend Obituary

AREND

Gerald R., Age 65, born January 30, 1951 and passed away peacefully May 19, 2016 surrounded by his family and close friends. Gerry was the son of the late Edward and Dolores Arend, brother of Lawrence (Bonnie) Arend and the late Thomas (Carole) Arend. Uncle to Brian (Joann), Greg (Lynn) and Curt (Jennifer) Arend. Also survived by his great aunt Jeanette Grothaus, aunt Shirley (Elmer) Johnson and several cousins both living and deceased. Gerry grew up in Cincinnati and was a graduate of LaSalle High School. Gerry faithfully served in the United States Army with Blackhorse 11th Calvary Regiment during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1975. Our country's current freedom is owed to men who have served like Gerry. "Oh, the sacrifice of a soldier/the masses never shall know… never a profession so noble/as to ensure the freedom of men" -(Unknown) Services will be held at the convenience of the family. www.neidhardminges.com
