JEANNE LILLY

NEWCOMB

CHARLOTTE - Mrs. Newcomb, 86, of Charlotte, NC passed away peacefully, Tuesday, July 19, 2011.

Born December 9, 1924, in Clarksburg, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Stuart Cass Lilly.

She graduated with a BA in English from Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, OH in 1947 where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority.

She was a dedicated member of United Methodist Women, served as circle chair of the Lydia Circle, coordinated the Widows Support Group and worked tirelessly to help establish support systems for aging members. Dear Bob, Linda and Nancy,

What a special lady Jeanne Newcomb was to so many people. She truly could light up a room with her presence and her love. We have many happy memories of being together in the Sunbeam Sunday School Class at FUMC. The Sunbeams loved Jeanne and looked forward to singing with her every Sunday. She lifted our spirits! We will be thinking about all of you.
