John Popple Obituary

John Glenn Popple, son of Gail and the late John L. Popple, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday evening, Sept. 14, 2010.

He was born Feb. 27, 1962. John was a resident of New Hope, the step by step group home in Tunkhannock.

John enjoyed milk shakes, playing with puzzles, staying with his brother, Jeff, long car rides and walks in the neighborhood. He was his family's angel and his innocence and unconditional love warmed the hearts of all who knew him. He greeted everyone with a smile and wave and was happy when people returned his hello. He will be lovingly remembered as "Moose."

Preceding him in death were his father, John L. Popple; and grandparents, James and Victoria Popple and Albert and Jennie Chase.

Surviving are his mother, Gail Popple, Bear Creek; brothers, David Popple, Mark Popple and his wife, Kimberly, and Jeff Popple and his wife, Leah; nieces, Taylor, Morgan, Sarah, Samantha, Peyton and Sienna; and nephews, Joshua, Evan and Austin.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday from E. Blake Collins Funeral Home, 159 George Ave., Wilkes-Barre. Services will be conducted by Pastor Wayne Nickol of Parsons Welsh Baptist Church. Interment will be in Mountainview Cemetery, Harding. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday.

Dear Gail, Jeff, Mark, and David:

My deepest sympathies to you and your family. John Glen's obituary was beautifully written and captured his essence as I remember (from a little girl growing up). My fondest memories were the times John would take him to our home and he would put puzzles together at our kitchen table. The other great one, when he would see my dad and the smile he would emanate would warm your heart.

With Sincerely Love,
Joleen (Chiampi) Lazecki
