Shirley Dee Cragle, 92, formerly of Hunlock Creek, passed away Friday, April 12, 2024 at Birchwood Nursing Center, Nanticoke, where she was a resident.
Born March 25, 1932, in Berwick, Shirley was the daughter of the late Henry and Margaret Walters Waters. She was employed at the former United Penn Bank, RKO, Percy Brown's Bakery, The T-Knob, The Little Greenhouse and Conyngham Floral.
Shirley was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, Ashley, for over 50 years. She was a past president of the United Methodist Women, a lay leader and a member of the choir. She also taught Sunday school and was active in many other facets of church life.
She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 50 years, Keith "K.C." Cragle; siblings, Henry Waters, Carol "Rusty" Waters, Margaret "Sis" Cusumano, Carolyn "Mickey" Hall and Shelden "Mike" Waters.
Surviving are her children, David Baron and his wife, Beverly "Bunny," of Sarasota, Fla.; Deborah Baron, Hanover Twp.; and Dale Baron and his wife, Debra, Hunlock Creek; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday from Dinelli Family Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad St., Nanticoke, with the Rev. Roger C. Noss Jr., pastor of Mount Moriah Independent Community Fellowship, officiating.
Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Walnut Street, Berwick.
Friends and family may call for visitation from 10 a.m. until the service time Thursday at the funeral home.
