Thaddeus "Ted" Shone, 80, of Shavertown, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2022, at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore.
Born in Kingston, he was the son of the late Thomas and Jean Antochik Shone.
Ted was a beloved hardworking family man with a generous heart and strong faith in the Lord. He was an active member of St. Therese's Church. Ted retired from Procter & Gamble as a human resources manager after 35 years of employment.
Ted devoted his life to his wife of 58 years, Arlene Rutkowski Shone, who was the love of his life, and their two children. He was a doting dad to Susan Holsan, who was the apple of his eye. His son, Tom, was his best friend and they shared a love of the outdoors.
Ted was blessed with two grandsons that called him "Pop." Ted shared his love of fishing with Mitchell Holsan. Tommy Shone, his youngest grandson, loved hunting with his Pop.
Gardening, bass fishing and playing cards were his favorite hobbies. Ted truly treasured family dinners with his family which also includes his daughter-in-law Stephanie Holdt and sister-in-law, Rose Ann and Robert Golaszewski, Drums. Ted's famous ribs and homemade French fries will definitely be missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial in St. Therese's Church in Shavertown will be announced in the future. Our family would like you to remember Ted by grabbing a fishing pole and taking loved ones for a day on the water.

Ted was a great friend in High School. I transferred to Kingston High School from another town and was never really accepted by the other classmates. Ted, and a small handful of others welcomed me and we remained friends right up to graduation. Ted and I, among the other outcasts, spent many wonderful hours together at Wyoming Valley Technical Institute. Although I never saw Ted again, after graduation, I will still miss him dearly.
