I'll always remember Michael with a smile. He was hired a little after MITY NICE opened in 1993. I remember taking Lisa out for a fun time with Maureen (McDonnell) Ucherek for a pseudo Bachelorette Party. Michael was always hands on helping, and had great personality. When I decided to go in mgmt, he warmly offered words of wisdom. He'll always be remembered with a smile. Hope all his loved ones are doing well.

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

Michael on his 37th birthday

April 9, 2006

I just wanted to take the time to let everyone know that we thank you for your thoughts and memories of Michael. He has affected so many people in so many ways, it almost takes my breath away.

It seems impossible that we could miss him more each day but somehow we do. He was more than anyone could have asked for in a brother - stong-loving, so very caring and always our protector. In many ways, he was my father, which I am so grateful for. I cannot imagine what my life would have been like without him and only hope that I can somehow carry on some of the legacy that he has left behind.

I feel honored to be able to call such an amazing person my brother.

Michael, we miss you and love you more than you could ever know - please know that our hearts and minds are with you always!

All my love~ Jen

Lisa, boys, family and friends. I added some wonderful pictures of Mike and set the site up to last a lifetime. Mike's 20 year reunion is next summer and I know many others will want to visit and add thoughts and memories of Mike. I hope years from now we can all visit the site and remember how very special Mike was to everybody.

He was so special to me. If nothing else than I need to just see his face and remember how much he influenced my life and who I am today.

What do you say that hasn't been already said? Mike was warm and welcoming. He was a gentleman even in his teen years when I knew him. Although we knew each other eons ago I was shocked when I heard this news. To Jack and all the family I am sorry for your loss (our loss). May the power of family keep us all strong and warm.

I must apologize for the time it has taken me to write this message about my friend Mike. I many ways Mike's loss is still too near to me. But I wanted to take the next few lines to let those of you out there know what Mike meant to me.
Many people will cross a person's path during the course of their lives. Some linger only a short time, while others stay with you no matter where you go or where your path may lead. For me Mike was the latter.
Even though we were seperated by many miles and often occupied by the duties that life requires of us, there was always the comfort of knowing that out there are those people that anchor you, keep you safe, make you laugh, give you strength. They are your those whom you love.
A friend.
A family.
A BROTHER.
Mike was my brother, in every way that defines the word. I am a most fortunate person to have had a Brother like Mike. It is such a precious, wonderful thing to have a such individuals in our lives and Mike reminds me of that often.
I am very lucky that there are others out there who I also count as my brothers. They are a huge part of who I am, and who I hope yet to become.
Mike will always be with me, whereever I go and in part of what you see when you look at me.
That NEVER leaves you even when a loved one's light has gone.

IT IS MY ESTEEMED PRIVILAGE TO CALL MIKE WAUGH MY BROTHER.

Dear Lisa, Erin, and Family:

I just learned of Michael's death and am filled with shock and sorrow. I had the honor of working for Michael for three years and his compassion, warmth and kindness will always be alive in my heart. He had the unique gift of making EVERYONE feel special and what a rare gift that is. Please know that my thoughts and love are with you.

Dear Lisa and the entire Waugh Family:

I am so terribly sorry about Michael's death. Scott loved him very much and respected him greatly. In the few times I met Mike at one of the restaurants, he was always hustling to make sure everyone and everthing was being taken care of. As busy as he was, he always stopped by our table to say hello, offer some special treat to us and always talked about his family and his beautiful three boys and wonderful wife. I am so, so sorry and grieve with you as my family struggles to understand and live with this horrible tragedy. If there is anything I or my family can do to help you, please, please reach out to me. God bless you. Jennifer Garland

I want you all to know how sorry I am for your sudden loss. I will always remember Mike's warm smile. You knew back in our high school and college days that if you were lucky enough to be with Mike, you would have a great time! I have so many special memories of our time together at Independence Ju-Co. Our little "group" left home for the first time and leaned on each other through many experiences. I found an old video of Mike during a football interview when we were at SHHS... He was so well spoken and excited, you would think he was in the pros. : ) That is how I will always remember Mike and I'm sure many others will as well... Excited about life and those around him.

God Bless you all through this difficult time... cherish the memories as they will always be with you.

Lisa,

My family's prayers are with you, the boy's, and your family. No matter what happens to us, God still loves us and He still cares for us. He knows your pain and heartache, and He knows the grief you and your family are going through. Jesus' promise is for you: "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted" (Matthew 5:4). We may not always understand why these things happen—but God does, and we can turn to Him for the comfort we need.

Michael is safely in heaven beyond the pain and sorrows of this world. I hope there is comfort in the fact that he will always be with you and your family in spirit.
