Vidal Martinez Obituary

Vidal Martinez Jr. passed away on March 15, 2010 in Cleveland, Ohio. He was born to Vidal Sr and Petra (Salinas) Martinez on August 13, 1939 in Topeka, Kansas. He was the eleventh child of twenty children. Vidal attended public schools in Topeka prior to his start in a career as a chef/cook. He married Olivia Balandran of Topeka; they were divorced. He married Marion Burns of Cleveland, Ohio and had one daughter. He was employed as a long-time chef until he became ill. Vidal was a very caring man and was loved by everyone whom he was surrounded by. He was the neighborhood handyman. He went from yard to yard fixing gutters, garages and whatever repairs his neighbors needed. He was preceded in death by his parents and 10 brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife, Marion; a daughter, Sonia Treta" (Donald Jr) reels; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; nine siblings, Amelia Ramirez and Julia Navejar of San Antonio TX, Ignacio Martinez of Blue Springs MO, Rita Servantez, Mary Escobar, Ramona Johnson, Michael Martinez, Augustine Martinez and Loretta Tetuan of Topeka; and six step-children, Gloria, Betty, Sandra, Billie, Tammy and William. The family of Mr. Vidal Martinez wishes to express their appreciation of the kindness and sympathy extended to them during their time of bereavement. Vidal Martinez Jr.
