Dennis joined the National Guard while still in High School. He was united in marriage to Peggy Jackson September 9, 1966 in Clarinda, Iowa. They were blessed with two children, Darin and Angie.

Dennis enjoyed his life as a truck driver. He started at an early age trucking with his father for Otte Trucking. When Dennis semi-retired, he and Peg spent fifteen winters in Hudson, Florida where they enjoyed the weather and their many friends.

Dennis was a big fan of NASCAR racing; Dale Earnhardt and Kyle Busch were two of his favorites. Other interests included Fantasy Football and watching game shows. Family was very important to Dennis and his grandkids were very special to him. He enjoyed being with family and his many friends.

Preceding Dennis in death were his parents, Clyde and LaVose Otte; brother-in- law and sister-in-law, Norval and Linda Oline; sister-in-law, Joy Jackson and his grandparents.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 50 years, Peg Otte of Clarinda; son, Darin Otte of Kansas City, Missouri; daughter, Angie Wesselink and husband Troy of Newton; grandchildren, Jordynn and Trey Wesselink of Newton; nephew, Kory Oline of Kansas City; niece, Kody Green and husband Lonnie Jr of Virginia Beach and many friends.
