I just discovered that Dr Zachem passed away. He was the first hospitalist I ever met. I was at St Charles in serious pain. He was sympathetic and gave me confidence. I still have his St Charles business card. I will miss knowing he is on the planet.

This man was the most incredible person. Always positive and upbeat. I shared many a laugh with him at SCMC. He always made my day

I have fond memories of John as a medical student on our surgical service at South Point Hospital. Even early in his training, I could appreciate his deep caring and devotion to serving others. Having only just learned of John's passing I would like to extend my sincere condolences to Jennie, Dr. Russ Zachem, and the entire family.
