My dearest mother,
Words cannot describe how lost I feel without you. Although it took me years to understand why you did the things you did when I was growing up, I regret all the lost times we could of had. All the lost hugs, all the lost laughs, all the wasted tears not understanding. I pray you know how much I always loved you and needed you even though I may never of told you or showed you. You were such a pillar of strength and there was nothing we did without. I hope that I can be half the women you were. You are and will always be my inspiration and my hero. Know also that you were the best mother anyone could ever have, you were tough but just look at what you created. There is a part of you in all of us. You brought us up with such a bond that I now only feel comforted when I'm around my brothers and sisters. I was given the gift of spending the last day of your life with me and that I will treasure til the day I die. Keep smiling that beautiful smile. Until we make pasteles together again... Your Lucille

Auntie - I cannot imagine a world without you. Even though I have seen you and said goodbye, it seems like you are still a phone call away. I'm not sure I will ever get used to this. I will miss our Scrabble and movie nights. I will miss your enveloping hugs and kissy prints. Thank you for being everything an Auntie should be and for being more than an Auntie, more like a grandma to Kurt. We will miss you forever.

Dear Melendez family,
I worked w/ Olga at St. John's every now and then. She was a gentle soul and cared about her patients and co-workers. I always enjoyed her company. I am so sorry that she passed so early in life and that Christmas, for you, will always be associated w/ her loss. God's peace to you now and in the difficult days and years ahead.

A fond memory of Olga is that she loved nimbling on my each of my newborn babies' chubby legs. She was always able to make them smile! She was kind to her patients and respected by her coworkers. You are greatly missed...never to be forgotten. God Bless your family.

Querida Mama
I saw you today and now I finally see the wonderments of God's peace that you spoke of to me. As you lay before us I saw God's love glow in your radiant face as you slumbered so... I touched you gently as the tears fell from my eyes...inside my heart silently saying "beautiful mama" this is goodbye...gentle loving woman you are truly with the angels in his kingdom...for it's the unity of family...your love and teachings of which the makeup of your family stems from. Te quiero para siempre! Tu hija,
Noelia Melendez
