Nancy Walters Obituary
CLINTON — Nancy Carol Gainey Walters, 88, passed away Friday, July 21, 2023 at her home.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 23, at Hickory Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Matthew Creech officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church and other times at the home of her son Jimmy at 955 Five Bridge Road, Clinton.
Nancy, born April 15, 1935 in Sampson County, was the daughter of the late Hubert Swinson and Ester Grantham Swinson. She worked with Lundy Packing Company and was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church. Nancy was a former member of the Moose Lodge. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Howard Gainey.
Survivors include; son, Jimmy Gainey, Jr. (Judy); daughter, Carolyn Weeks; grandchildren, Chris Medlin (Lorie), Renee Woods (Josh), Brian Gainey (Amy), and Michelle Gainey (Greg); and great-grandchildren, Riley Woods (Chase), August Medlin, Preston Medlin, Erin Beasley, Abbie Beasley, Trey Gainey, Skyler Cason (Luke), Blair Gainey, Brookes Gainey and Baylor Gainey.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hickory Grove Baptist Church, 1131 N US Hwy 421, Clinton, N.C. 28328.
