Lisa Eason Obituary

Lisa Driggers Eason, 43, of Claxton and Glennville, earned her eternal wings on Sunday morning, Sept. 28, 2014.
Lisa grew up in the Gooseneck community but resided in Claxton for the last 17 years. Lisa spent her last, peaceful days at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro. She fought a long, hard battle with scleroderma for the last 25 years.
Lisa was born on July 12, 1971, to Jimmy and Katha Waters Driggers. Lisa grew up with two sisters, Lori Threatt and Ellen Kingery. On March 29, 1997, Lisa married her high-school sweetheart, Scott Eason. They have one, very smart 10-year-old son, Joseph Scott Eason.
Lisa was a life-time learner. She graduated from Claxton High School in 1989. She earned her bachelor's degree in education from Georgia Southern University. She went on to earn her master's and doctorate degree from Argosy University. She taught high school, served as the school guidance counselor, and was an administrator at Tattnall County High School, Bradwell Institute and Liberty Career Academy. Lisa finished her 20-year career at her alma mater, Claxton High School as an assistant principal.
Lisa's favorite pastime was being with family and friends. She loved attending country music concerts. Lisa was also a diehard Georgia Bulldog fan. In the last year she became a diehard Braves fan as she watched many games with her daddy. Her favorite place on earth was the beach.
Lisa was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church, having never moved membership. She, Scott and Joseph attended Eason's Chapel United Methodist Church in Claxton. Lisa and Scott attended the Walk to Emmaus in September 2011. They loved Tattnall Campground and attended camp meeting each summer.
Lisa is survived by her loving husband of 17 years, Scott Eason; son, Joseph Eason; her parents, Jimmy and Katha Waters Driggers of Glennville; mother-in-law, Gloria Eason of Claxton; two sisters, Lori Threatt of Midway and Ellen (Heath) Kingery of Claxton; Scott's siblings, Cheryl (Ellis) Conley and Bo (Kay) Eason, all ofClaxton; brother, Joel Eason of Texas; Elizabeth, Olivia, Jacob and Clay Kingery. Lisa was proud of her large, extended family, including 37 first cousins, and many wonderful aunts and uncles who were part of her support group. Lisa was also blessed to be a part of several faculty and staff groups at various schools. The students she taught were also a blessing.
Lisa was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Joe Eason of Claxton; her grandparents, John and Floy Waters and Hugh and Vernice Driggers of Glennville.
Her celebration of life will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, at Harmony United Methodist Church. The Revs. Ramon Hernandez and Charles Fiveash will officiate. Pallbearers will be Scott Brown, Ellis Conley, Lindsay Duffield, Huey "Bo" Eason, Joel Eason, Brett McDaniel, Ricky McGlashan, and Norman Threatt. Honorary pallbearers are her first cousins. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, at Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home in Glennville. Burial will be in A.D. Eason family cemetery in the Undine community. The family will gather at Jimmy and Katha Driggers' pond house in the Gooseneck community.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Dr. Lisa D. Eason Educational Scholarship, 2167 D.D. Durrence Road, Glennville, GA 30427. Donations in Lisa's memory can also be sent to Ogeechee Area Hospice, P.O. Box 531, Statesboro, GA 30459.
Lisa's family would like to thank all of the doctors and staff that have cared for her. A special thanks you to the staff at Ogeechee Area Hospice and Dr. T.J. Miller and staff.
Lisa can be remembered by a few of her favorite quotes: "God doesn't give us what we can handle; God helps us handle what we are given." "Take your bad days one at a time, and never take your good ones for granted."
LISA = LOVING, INSPIRING, STRONG and AMAZING

Our hearts are broken for you, for the extreme sadness that you are experiencing. Lisa is such an exemplary young woman on so many levels. Although the heartache is great, there is such a beautiful comfort in knowing that Lisa is forever in the arms of God, her Creator, knowing Heavenly joy that surpasses all human understanding!!! It is our prayer that you will feel her love for you and her peace and joy, in the days ahead, and know that you will be with her again at the most incredible reunion of all time!!!!
