LEE A. FARR
January 4, 1940 ~ February 6, 2016

Lee A. Farr, age 76, died February 6, 2016 in Portland, OR. He was born in Vancouver, Washington on January 4, 1940, the son of Margaret and William Farr. Lee graduated high school in Vancouver in 1958 and earned a B.A. from Washington State University in Pullman and a M.A. from Central Washington University in Ellensburg.
Lee married Thelma Cooke, and had a son, Miles Farr. Subsequently Lee married twice, to Susan Thomas, and most recently to Amy Farr.
Lee developed passionate interests, first in horses as a young man, then oriental rugs, opening an antique carpet business at his historic home in Portland, OR, and finally photography and Mongolian antiquities.
After leaving the business and Portland, Lee learned Chinese and taught English at Taiwan University in Taipei for many years.
Survivors include: son, Miles; Lee's three brothers, William, Jan, and Kim; as well as three grandchildren of Tammy and Miles: Amanda, Clayton, and Jordan.
Lee Farr was cremated and will be buried in a private memorial at Maryhill, Washington.
