Patricia Burgess Obituary
She was a loving mother to Danny Kern Phelan (deceased), Susie Phelan McCullough and husband Steve and Jeffrey M. Phelan. grandmother to Hattie McCullough Knowles and husband Paul of Minot, N.D. Minda McCullough of Fresno and Grandson Mitch McCullough of Arbuckle. She was also a great grandmother to Layne Knowles and a sister to Maryann Diaz.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William "Bill" Rankin and Harriet Watson Hawk and son, Danny Phelan.
Arlene lived her entire life in College City. She retired from College City Post Office and Rankin Store, which her grandfather built.
She was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles and spending time with her family and dear friends: Beverly Cox, Carolyn Struckmeyer and cousin Sandra Jacobson Sanchez.
A Rosary will be recited at 12:30 p.m. followed by a Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, Dec. 10, beginning at 1:00 p.m., at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Arbuckle. Interment to follow at College City Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Arbuckle Fire Department or charity of choice.
