Clarksdale, MS
Dr. Victor H. Meena, Sr., 87, passed away October 14, 2017 at The Blake Assisted Living Facility in Oxford, Mississippi. Visitation is Wednesday, October 18 at 11 a.m. and a Memorial Service will follow at Noon at First United Methodist Church in Clarksdale.
Dr. Meena was born December 4, 1929 to the late Mamie Abraham Meena and Elias Michael Meena. He wass also preceded in death by his loving wife, Ramona Brazeal Meena, sister, Victoria and brothers, Edward Meena and Dr. Albert Meena.
He attended Clarksdale public schools and was elected Mr. Clarksdale High School. He was an Eagle Scout and enjoyed outdoor activities his entire life. He received the D.A.R. College Award and graduated from Mississippi State College where he was a member of SAE fraternity and the Horticulture club. He served two years as a First Lieutenant in the United States Army. After serving in Korea, he attended and graduated from the University of Tennessee Dental School with his DDS. Dr. Meena practiced dentistry for 14 years in Clarksdale. He then went to Fairleigh Dickenson University for two years and received his Masters of Science Degree in Orthodontics and practiced orthodontics for 30 years in Clarksdale.
Dr. Meena served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Clarksdale Municipal School District and served on the Board of First Methodist Church. He was the self-proclaimed best bream fisherman in the Southeastern Conference and passed down this skill to his children, grandchildren and others.
Survivors include his sons, Victor H. Meena, Jr. (Ashley) and Richard T. Meena (Beth) and his daughter, Mary Martha Bobo (Jack) and grandchildren, Vic Meena, Wade Meena, Lee Meena, Shea Meena, Emily Meena, Jake Meena, Vicki Bobo Eastland (Jacob), E'Lane Bobo Williams (Baker), Mary Brock Bobo Crumpton (Bo), John Bobo, Robert Bobo and sisters-in-law, Sylvia Brazeal of Wedowee, AL and Jackie Meena of Madison, MS.

As a high school student , I worked for Dr. Meena in his orthodontic office in Clarksdale, MS, for several years. He taught me so much about work ethic, business structure, customer service and was a true mentor to me. He and Ramona were very kind and supportive to a young girl they saw potential in. I grew up to become a hospital CEO, Corporate Compliance Executive, etc. I'm so grateful for his influence in my life. Rest in peace, Sir. You will be missed. ~ Karen Whitaker Stem
