Dear Julie, Jay, Joel, Matthew, and Peter, I am so sorry to hear of John’s passing and to realize that I missed his memorial service. John and Julie were wonderful friends to my parents for many many years and I was so grateful for their help especially as my parents grew older. As a child I loved walking up the hill to visit with Julie and to see all the animals that they raised on their farm. I always thought of John as a quiet man who just loved living on the farm enjoying his life with Julie and so proud of his sons and all their accomplishments. Along with Cap LeVarne (Gramps), he and Julie were the best of neighbors, always available to help anyone, including my parents, and I was always so appreciative. I am sure his spirit lives in his family and the wonderful memories that they have shared. With my sincere sympathies, Kathy Bisaillon Ruggles

In the Road Through Sandwich Notch, it is written, “When there is shelter from the storm, work to do that needs doing, a companion with whom to share life, beauty at your door, it doesn’t matter what you don’t have, the rest can go by”. And, John had this/knew this in his earthly life. He kept our land as it should be through his stewardship. He served his country and his community. To Julie and the Morse family, may you relish all the good memories together. My deepest sympathies to you each. John was a good man who left his mark. Gail Matthews

Dear Julie
Pattie and I were thinking of how many years we have known you and John. I first met John when Henny and I were going to Lynnfield High School in 1957 when John was in the marines. Then in 1961 when I first attended UNH and Pattie and I visited your apartment in Lee NH when John was a senior. 66 years have passed since those early days. John was always a mentor to Henny and I. We certainly needed it on several occasions over the years. Our deepest sympathy for your family's loss. John fought the good battle over the last few years. We believe hes in a better place now.
