Shirley Field Obituary

Shirley Ann Field, 64, of Nashua passed away Monday, July 14, 2014, at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born April 12, 1950, in Dover to the late Arba and Regina (Gosslin) Field.

Shirley graduated from Concord High School and later attended Boston Deaconess School of Nursing. She worked as an ICU nurse and charge nurse at various hospitals in Concord, Nashua and New York City, including Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua and Boston Deaconess in Boston.

She enjoyed cooking, dancing, traveling and attending sport car club events of SCCA and Porsche of Nashua.

Surviving members of Shirley's family include three sisters, Cora Parker of Rochester and Ocala, Fla., Ruth Simard of Merrimack and Ocala, Fla., and Yvonne Forest of Syracuse, N.Y. Also, nephews Shane and Everett Lucia of the Syracuse, N.Y., area and grandnephews and nieces Harley, Shane and Caleb. And a special friend, Richard Maser of Pepperell, Mass.

There will be a memorial service for Shirley at the Parish of the Resurrection, 449 Broad St., Nashua, N.H. 03063, at 11 a.m. on Aug. 2, 2014.

My heartfelt condolences to Shirley's family. I have wonderful memories of the time she spent with my sister and I at our home on North State Street in Concord when we were young. She was a kind and loving woman.

Please accept my sincere sympathy on the loss of Shirley. She was a wonderful person who devoted her life to helping others. Shirley was a dear childhood friend and my next door neighbor when she and her family lived on North Main Street in Concord. Shirley, Yvonne and I walked to school together and started our day on a pleasant note. I have fond memories of these times. You will be in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
