AGE: 69 • Blackwood, NJ
Daly, Edward M., 69 of Blackwood, passed away suddenly on October 14, 2011 with his family by his side after a brief illness.
LEGACY
A self made man who always strived to place the needs of other ahead of his own is how Ed will be fondly remembered.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Ed, as he was affectionately known to his family and friends, moved to New Jersey as a young man and remained here for the past forty years. Ed worked as a Tool & Dye maker for over 35 years until his retirement. Away from his work, Ed enjoyed rides to the shore to try his luck at the Casinos while the sounds of Elvis, Roy Orbison or Jackie Wilson played on his radio. Most of all, Ed enjoyed the company of his family, neighbors and friends, especially his four granddaughters, at family gatherings. Ed will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved this genuine, good hearted man.
FAMILY
Ed is the beloved father of Laura Daly-Strauss, Daniel Daly and the late Edward V. Daly; loving grandfather of Miranda, McKenna, Madison and Emily; former husband of Jane (nee Jones) Daly; brother of Kathleen Hicks, the late Joseph Daly and Patrick Daly.
FAREWELL SERVICE
Relatives and friends are invited to gather for Ed's viewing after 1 PM Saturday in the McGUINNESS FUNERAL HOME, 573 Egg Harbor Road, Washington Twp., where his Funeral Service will follow at 2:30.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ed's memory may be made to the Edward M. Daly Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 672, Woodbury, NJ 08096 for the benefit of the future educational endeavors of his four granddaughters.

To the Daly Family, What a wonderful family Jane and Ed made. Everyone member of this family is full of love and happiness. Everytime we saw Ed he would be so happy and treated us like we were his best friends with a hugh smile and warm hugs. When a man is a great father, grandfather and friend, I believe there is no greater accomplishment. Your dad, also known as Poppie, was all 3 of these things and will never be forgotten.

Mr. D was truly one of a kind who will be missed by all who knew him.
His spirit has touched so many people's lives including mine & Marlana's.

Dear Mr. Daly, I didn't know you but you are my friends' Daddy & you brought her so much joy. I was personally affected to hear of your passing. In your last week, I prayed day & night for you. In my heart I know you are in Heaven looking down on all of us. Thank you for being such a good father & husband to your wife. Your memory will live on and on.
