AGE: 75 • South Orange
Sadly, the world lost a kind & wonderful man, Martin F. Telanoff, on November 27th, 2015. Beloved Husband to the late Barbara Telanoff, father-extraordinaire to Sheri (Telanoff) Friedman, valued father-in-law to Jason Friedman, devoted Pop-Pop to three grandchildren, loving brother to Barbara Josephs & Robert Telanoff, revered Uncle to five, admired cousin to many, respected elementary school teacher at Johnson Elementary School, in Cherry Hill, for over 30 years, talented saxophone & clarinet player, Veteran who traveled the world in the Army Band, humorist, concise writer, realist, good listener, pinochle & bridge player, sci-fi, current events, and jazz lover, computer expert, articulate, thoughtful speaker, Phillies fan, Temple University graduate, and a dear friend to all.
Mr. Telanoff also won the Courier Post's 'Silver Pen' award for his pithy editorials. Whether it was in his role as a Union Rep or as Vice-President of his Tenant's Association in his apartment building, Marty was known for his quick wit, articulate words, and ability to solve disputes peacefully & logically. People looked to him for smart advice, an ear to listen, or a hearty chuckle. He grew up in Philadephia and lived most of his adult life in Cherry Hill, NJ before moving to north Jersey to be closer to his daughter and her family. Martin Telanoff was a big teddy bear of a man who left an indelible mark on everyone he met. His absence in this world is a loss to all who knew him.

Dear Shari,
I just learned of your father's death. I did not know that your mother had passed away before him. I want to express my deep sympathy to you and your family. I did not have contact with your dad for many years, but always thought highly of him. Again, I am very sorry for your loss.
