Ben Talbert Obituary

Ben Michael Talbert

Newburgh - Ben Michael Talbert, age 81, of Newburgh, Indiana

God gained and the world lost, the kindest, finest, sweetest, most honest, God and family-loving man.

Upon graduation, Mike enlisted in the United States Air Force where he attended electronic school at Scott Air Force Base in St. Louis, Missouri. Following St. Louis, he was assigned to security service and was then stationed in Libya, Tripoli in North Africa, Athens, and Crete, Greece.

After honorable discharging from the military, he went to work for BudLock refrigeration as the sales manager and pilot of the company. He is a graduate of the University of Evansville, where he received a bachelor's degree in liberal studies. He was one of American's Most Outstanding Men of 1974. He was Co-Developer of Lake Ridge Crossing Subdivision, and Developer of Talbert's Ridge Subdivision. Mike won an outstanding number of Home of the Year awards.

Mike was a member of Crossroads Christian Church 18 years where he served as head-greeter and was known as "Mr. Sticker Man" by the little children of the church. He recently became a member of The Living Word Church.

Mike enjoyed, more than anything, being with his family. Most importantly, their "Sunday Dinners" which has been a tradition for the 35 years. He enjoyed the company of his friends, and he never met anyone he didn't like. Mike was known for his big heart and wonderful spirit. A few words to describe him were, friendly, patient, and loving. He was a light that could fill any room. It was no secret that everyone loved him, and he loved them.

Surviving is his wife of 51 years, the love of his life, Jackie Talbert. His children, Brian Daniels (Rebecca), and Laura Talbert both of Newburgh. His grandchildren, the center of his world, Blake Daniels (Breanne) of Indianapolis, Jace Bartley of Newburgh, Hunter Daniels of Nashville, Tennessee and Pearce Bartley of Newburgh; daughters, Angela, and Belinda, both of Benton, Kentucky and sister-in-law, Bettye Dietsch.

Preceded in death is Mike's mother and father, Anna and Ben Talbert and his sister, LaVonda Bullock, of Evansville.
