Bettye J. Wildt, 92, died Sunday November 16, 2014 peacefully in her sleep.
Betty was born Nov. 4,1922 in Boonville to Ernest and Helen G. (Meyer) Goad who preceded her in death.
Bettye was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Edward Wildt and her sister, Emily Talley.
She graduated from Mackey High School and then attended DeVry Beauty College. She worked as a beautician for a few years before becoming a full time homemaker.
Bettye was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Boonville for more than 65 years. She served as a Sunday school teacher, president of Women's Guild, and helped in the church office for 30 years. She also was a member of the DAR Auxiliary.
Bettye and her husband grew lots of strawberries and garden vegetables along with the many beautiful flowers she so loved. In addition to gardening Bettye also enjoyed sewing and needlework. She was an avid doll collector with over 100 dolls displayed in her home.
Bettye is survived by her four children, Judith Schuessler (Allen) of Belleville, IL, Jeanette Spradlin (Don) of Brazil, IN, Jayne Kempf (Jerry) of Newburgh, IN, and Jeff Wildt (Julie) of Boonville, IN, eight grandchildren, Sean Schuessler, Kristin Szydlowski, T.J. Schuessler, Christopher Spradlin, Jon Kempf, Jason Kempf, Julie Mohr, Clay Wildt. Bettye has twelve great grandchildren.
Funeral service 11:00 A.M. Friday, Nov.21 at Koehler Funeral Home-Boonville Chapel. Funeral service will be officiated by Rev. Scott Westerman. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Boonville, IN. Friends may call Thursday, 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and on Friday 10:00 A.M. until service time at Koehler Funeral Home-Boonville Chapel.
