Catherine McCluskey Obituary
Evansville - Catherine M. "Kate" (Fest) McCluskey, 95, of Evansville, passed away
October 17, 2019 at the Heritage Center and Holiday Healthcare. She was born October 20, 1923 in St. Henry, IN, to the late George and Sophia "Vogl" Fest.
Kate operated a home daycare for 17 years. She also worked as a seamstress and in the cafeteria at Nativity Catholic School. Kate was a parishioner of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and was an active member of the Gold Star Wives and the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post #1114. She enjoyed such activities as gardening, quilting, fishing, reading, traveling and playing games. She was especially happy when spending time with her children and grandchildren. Kate was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Kate is survived by her sons Michael (Vicky) McCluskey and Christopher (Kim) McCluskey; daughters, Patricia (Tony) Legan and Sandy McCluskey; grandchildren, Brian (Kristina) Legan, Melissa Legan and Nicole (J.R.) Neidlinger; great grandchildren, Madelyn and Brody Neidlinger and Trey and Ruby Legan.
In addition to her parents, Kate was preceded in death by her husband, Retired Army Staff Sergeant, Robert McCluskey, in 1971; brothers, Lawrence, Bernard and Otto Fest; sisters, Ludwina Wilman, Helen Mehringer; and grandson, Robert Charles McCluskey.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 25, 2019 at Ziemer Funeral Home North Chapel, 6300 N. First Ave., Evansville, 47710, with a Memorial service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9:30 a.m. to
10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 918 W. Mill Rd., Evansville, 47710. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the church with Fr. Jason Gries officiating.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, 2500 Mesker Park Dr., Evansville, 47720.
Memorial contributions can be made to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 918 W. Mill Rd., Evansville, IN 47710.
