Maria Leonor (Vilaca) Eugenio,76, of Ludlow passed away peacefully on February 3, 2025 at home surrounded by her beloved family. The family would like to let people know that are attending the services to wear Purple or Butterflies if you would like.Visiting Hours for Maria will be held on Monday February 10, 2025 from 4:00pm-6:00pm at Ludlow Funeral home. Maria's Burial will take place on Tuesday February 11, 2025 and family and friends are asked to meet directly at St. Aloysius Cemetery for a 10:00am Rites of Committal. I'm not the greatest with words, and even worse when there's absolutely no words. Mae was an absolute anchor to all.... If you have ever walked through the door.... You entered her family... Throughout the insanity of any situation. She was there... No matter how crazy my life has ever been... She had my back .. In many of my darkest moments..... She was a light.... Many times the only light..... I've never had the chance nor the courage to express my gratitude.... For the better part of my existence.... Mae was just willing to be there.... Armando,Vasco, Manny and José... My deepest condolences.. ... The love respect and lessons life and love Mae taught while never knowing how much I have learned.... Mind you all a major language barrier... Humility and humbled by many conversations years ago ... The finer points of swacka.... Sobe Dez... Or how to deal from the bottom off the deck... Sorry for the spelling... A litteral mountain off pizza hut meat lovers supreme.... And probably a river of crystal Pepsi.... Taught me every cuss word in the Portuguese language while enriching my culture... Much of what I learned about the Portuguese language and culture is directly indicative of the time I was graced with in her presence.... Forever grateful for every second of my life in her presence.... Lost in memories and reflection of every single second...... She was always the one I would never expect.... But, bet on black.... She would show up... Mãe... I love you and appreciate you for everything..... More than I can explain, and there's no words.... Thank you and God bless....

Maria was a beyond beautiful soul who was tougher than any boxer, and sweeter than any confectionery. I am beyond thankful to have known her in the time that I had. Seeing her always made my day, and she would smile even when I checked her " losers". Such a positive and thoughtful woman. I will think of her whenever I see the purple hues during a sunset.
