Curtis Ebdon Obituary

Curtis Todd Ebdon
Curtis Todd Ebdon, age 62, of Shelton entered into rest suddenly on Monday February 1, 2021 in his home. He was the devoted husband for over 10 years to Debra (Burton) DeMarco Ebdon. He was born in Meriden on March 25, 1958, son of the late Edgar Horswell Ebdon, Jr. and Mary Elizabeth Stout Ebdon. Curt's career as a Graphic Designer spanned 40 years. He owned and operated his own business for over 20 years before accepting a position over a decade ago as a Senior Director of Design and Digital Print at Fairfield University. Curt dedicated himself to his family, friends and community. When his children were young, he volunteered in several Shelton athletic programs as a coach, including Little League, Softball, Pop Warner football, and the Shelton High School Football team. Curt's love for coaching and for the players he coached had an enormous impact on so many young lives. He took on honorary roles as hype man for the nationally ranked Shelton Pop Warner Cheer Teams, Shelton Merch Designer, and Creative director for the band, Malpraktis. His kindness, humor, and his love for competition were felt by all who crossed his path. He will forever be remembered as a man who could make a stranger feel like a friend and a coach who made the impossible seem achievable. Curt's memory will live on through the model of fatherhood and kindness he created for his family and friends. It will live on through Christmas Eve celebrations, trips to Yankee Stadium, SEC football games, and eating wings at Porky's. He is the beloved father of Todd Ebdon, Dean Ebdon and his wife Melissa, Kyle Hallmark and her husband Brandon, and Kate Ebdon, step-father of Michael and Dominic DeMarco, proud grandfather of Bryce, Bentley and Oakley Hallmark and Nora Ebdon, loving brother of John Ebdon, Jeffrey Scott Ebdon and Drew Ebdon and his wife Sandra. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to a Curt Ebdon Scholarship to benefit a graduating high school student athlete from Shelton and Ledyard High Schools. Friends are invited to watch Curt's memorial service on Saturday at 11 a.m. via Livestream at www.riverviewfh.com. Due to the Covid pandemic, a public celebration of Curt's life will be celebrated in the future when it is safe to gather. The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton are entrusted with the arrangements.

My memories go back to a time when we were all younger. Curt was the younger brother of my high school friend, Scott. What a great family the Ebdon's were. I remember one summer, Mr. Ebdon was restoring a Mini Cooper. I think it was for Curt. To all of Curt's friends and family, please accept our deepest sympathy's. The Quin family.

My God hold all of you close to his heart. Curtis was one of my favorite people at Fairfield U. When I first started my career there he took me under his wing and gave me the best advice. He designed and gifted my husband and I the most beautifully designed wedding invitations. My heart aches for your family. Curtis was one of the best. Prayers and peace to you all.

It was always such a pleasure to get together with all of my four Ebdon cousins. Always a time of laughter and plenty of hugs. Curt could be counted on for the one liners that cracked us up. From the time we were young, he was the fashion guy with the suit jackets and sun glasses. I will miss him greatly.

In this sorrowful time, the Tregger family would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to each and everyone of Curt's family. We have fond memories of Curt and the Ebdon family! From Huntington Center Preschool to Elizabeth Shelton School, St Joseph's Church, Shelton High School and our most fun and memorable times with Shelton Pop Warner Cheerleading! Curt was by far our biggest supporter and fan!! His excitement was contagious! A very kind, caring and encouraging man who touched so many kids lives and he will be greatly missed. I know his legacy will go on through his children and grandchildren. May our Lord bless you and comfort you during this very difficult time. Our prayers are with you.

Deb and family,
I have no words. I am in shock. I know it's been some time since we've seen each other but to see this has really shaken me. I am so sorry and will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. Such a good man has left this earth way too soon. I'm here if you need me.

Curt was my “favorite”. You knew whenever he was around there would be lots of laughs. He not only was the funniest of the four brothers , he was also the most sensitive. Once he brought on the tears everyone did. He will be missed by all but especially his family. I trust his children will carry on his love of life and laughter. Fly high Curtis.

Curt was a leader of men. The most generous, giving person I ever knew. A great father, friend and coach who truly loved and cared for all his players and coaches. His pride and passion for life will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. The king is gone, but never will be forgotten. My prayers go out to his family and friends. RIP buddy.
