Dominick Coppola Obituary

COPPOLA Dominick T. Coppola, age 82, of Bridgeport, formerly of Fairfield, beloved husband of Julie Bucolo Coppola, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2006 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Born in Fairfield, the son of the late Louis and Carina (Piscopo) Coppola, he had been a town resident for most of his life. He was a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps veteran. Following the war, he worked along with his brothers in their father's produce business. Mr. Coppola then became the owner and operator of the Coppola Ford car dealership on Kings Highway in Fairfield and in Hartford. After selling the business to his brother, Jerry, he began his career in real estate and land development, retiring in the early 1990's. An avid golfer, he was a member of the Mill River Country Club and the New York Athletic Club. Survivors in addition to his wife, include three daughters, Karen Regensburger of Fairfield, Peggy Coppola of New York, N.Y. and Pamela Coppola of Lombard, Ill.; two granddaughters, Julie Brazier of Danbury and Dominique Worth and her husband, Donald Worth Jr., of Fairfield; two great-grandchildren, Maxwell David Carter and Karly Worth; a sister, Carmela Burns of Hartford; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Anthony, Jerry and Dan Coppola; and a nephew, Thomas Coppola. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, (TODAY) February 18, 2006 at 9 a.m., meeting DIRECTLY at Our Lady of Assumption Church, Fairfield. Entombment will follow in the Pilgrimage Mausoleum at Mt. Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Prior calling hours have been omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Swim Across the Sound, 2800 Main Street, Bridgeport, CT 06606.
