Edward F. Fox 79, beloved husband of Lillian (Dirsa) Fox, of Farmington, formerly of Bristol, died peacefully Saturday, September 8, 2012 at home surrounded by his family. Born November 6, 1932 in Bridgeport, he was son of the late Henry and Catherine (Sullivan) Fox. He was a Radiologist at Bristol Hospital from 1962 until his retirement in 1994. While at Bristol Hospital, he was Chief of Radiology, a past president of the Bristol Hospital Medical Society and was on the Bristol Hospital Board of Directors. He was the founder of Bristol Radiology Associates. Dr. Fox was a Fellow of the American Radiology Association, a former chairman of the Bristol Board of Education, a member of the Bristol Rotary Club and the Elks Lodge #1010 B.P.O.E. of Bristol. He was an active parishioner of St. Joseph Church, Bristol, and was one of the first Readers at the church. Dr. Fox earned his BS in Biology from Fairfield University in 1954 and his Medical Degree from NY Medical School in 1958. He served his internship and residency at St. Vincent's Hospital, Bridgeport. Besides his wife Lillian, Dr. Fox is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Kevin Fox of Sioux Falls, SD, and E. Brian and Cindy Fox of Monroe, CT, three daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Kenneth O'Brien of Naples, Italy, Susan and Walter Bycoski of Bristol, and Judy and Jeff Neumann of Harwinton. He also leaves a sister, Lillian Wood of Southport, CT and a half brother, James P. Fox of Texas, eight beloved grandchildren, Jason and Jennifer Bycoski, Katelyn and Tara O'Brien, Timothy and Dillon Neumann, and Catherine and Olivia Fox, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Dr. Henry Fox. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4-7pm at DuPont Funeral Home, 25 Bellevue Ave., Bristol. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11am at St. Joseph Church, 33 Queen St. Bristol, following a 10am visitation at the funeral home. Entombment in Holy Family Mausoleum in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol, will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to: the Michael J.
