Jamie Otfinoski Obituary

Jamie M. Otfinoski
Jamie Michael Otfinoski, 68, of Bridgeport, entered into eternal peace on January 31 at St. Vincent's Medical Center after a brief illness. The second son of Tony and Helen Otfinoski, he was born on March 25, 1952, in Farmingdale, New York. The family moved to Middletown, Connecticut in 1958. Jamie grew up surrounded by family and had many friends. He attended the Paier College of Art in Hamden and was a gifted artist and illustrator with a vivid imagination and a keen sense of humor. Jamie made his living as a skilled carpenter and had his own construction company for many years. One part of his profession he particularly enjoyed was drawing up detailed architectural plans for his clients.
Jamie was a loving father, a devoted son, and a loyal brother and friend. He liked nothing better than a lively conversation about politics, music and the latest movies on Netflix. Jamie enjoyed exploring other cultures, including his wife's Brazilian heritage. He loved animals, especially his two dogs, Malu and Mimi, and the many birds who flocked to his outdoor birdfeeder.
He is survived by his loving wife Eliamar Soalheiro Otfinoski and his three children: Jamie Anthony (Brianna) of Danbury, and Jaclyn and Danielle (David), both of Philadelphia. He is also survived by his two brothers and their wives: Steven and Beverly of Stratford and David and Maria of Chester; as well as two nieces, Martha and Annie; a nephew, Ben; and his brother-in-law, Ramildo Soalheiro. He was predeceased by his parents. A private service will be held for immediate family members.

Well, after some reflection,it was the early seventies(73) that I spoke of as turbulent times, and ,our gentle giant brother was blossoming with That Light of Gentleness that made him Great. We pass through this life but once. I pray for Jamie's family and friends whosoever reads this and thinks of him, that we may also become gentle.see psalm 18:35.Till we meet again, God ,be with us all.J. Pagano

I met Jamie in the turbulent mid seventies. His calmness, coolness,&,collectiveness, encapsulated by his compassion ,as well as fierce courage to live his convictions, not only earned my respect, but, especially my encouragement.I tried, occasionally to contact him,to no avail, unfortunately,to continue that encouragement.I pass it along to his family& friends. We are 1 day closer to heaven, today, than ever before. The world is a better place for the light and compassion that has shown through Jamie's light and life.Fond regards,&,condolences& best wishes to all that also beheld his blessings.Rest in peace old friend, until that great day.Maranatha

I went to Middletown High with Jamie he was such a nice person. I was glad to hear that he got to live his artistic pursuits. It sounds like he had a wonderful life with his family he deserved the best and am sure he gave it back to all of you he loved.

I am saddened to hear of Jaime's passing. My sincerest condolences to his family. Jaime lived across the street from me when he lived in West Haven. He even made a few repairs to my house for me.
