Louis Jakab

JAKAB Mr. Louis Jakab, age 88, of Bridgeport, entered into eternal life Thursday evening, April 22, 2010. Born in Bridgeport, the son of the late Alex and Lina Jakab, he had been a long term resident of the Bridgeport Rescue Mission. Louis lived at the Mission for sixteen years and was often seen bicycling throughout the neighborhood. He retired from Sikorsky Aircraft in 1969 after more than 30 years of service. Louis served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He will be missed by all who knew him. A graveside service with full military honors will be held Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport officiated by the Rev. Michael Moran. (Upon entering main gate of cemetery on North Avenue follow Spear-Miller Funeral Home signs to burial site.) In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Bridgeport Rescue Mission, 1088 Fairfield Avenue, Bridgeport, CT 06605.
