John W. McCoy
John William McCoy, 81, of Shade Gap, and formerly of Newville died Wednesday September 7, 2016 in Holy Spirit Hospital.
He was born September 9, 1934 in Carlisle the son of John F. and Grace I. Lehr McCoy.
He served in the Georgia, and Pennsylvania National Guard.
He was a farmer, and had retired from Capital Products in Mechanicsburg.
He loved fishing and gardening.
Mr. McCoy is survived by two sons John E. McCoy, and Terry W. McCoy both of Newville, and one daughter Kathy R. Thoman and her husband Keith A. Thoman of Shade Gap; three grandchildren Nicholas W. Caler, Abbey R. Caler, and Katelyn M. Caler; and four great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held Tuesday September 13, 2016 from 10 to 11 AM in the Egger Funeral Home Inc. 15 Big Spring Ave. Newville. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM in the funeral home with Pastor Donald Snyder officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle.
